More wistful Polish poetry from the 1930s…
I once knew someone whose professional mission was to encourage the use of Shakespeare in elementary schools and other places outside of high school English courses.  He even taught courses on the subject.  This strikes me as a great leaping off point for a discussion of that topic.  It even goes so far as to hint at the underlying themes of that argument— that our lives are enhanced by arts, even if all we do is stare “into an abyss of melancholy.”
